God is Faithful in Temptation

1Co 10:13 "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."

In the greek, the word used for "faithful" (pistos) also means "trustworthy". God is worthy of our trust. We might have been let down badly by other people that we have trusted, but God remains dependable. In any temptation, we can have the confidence that God will do two things-

  1. He will not permit us to be tempted beyond our limits of endurance.
  2. He will always provide a way to escape, either from the temptation or from falling into it.

Victory over sin is a possibility that every Christian can possess. Next time you are tempted to sin, remember that God is faithful, even in temptation.

May the Lord uphold and keep you always. For more information, check http://www.simpleandtrue.co.uk/page4.htm
